ANA Traveler’s: Going Further into Unseen Japan, the Fascination of Travel Never Ends! ~ Let’s Travel in Japan! High-Quality Journeys VOL. 13 〜

ANA X Inc. (President and CEO: Shinichi Inoue, headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) began sales of Let’s Travel in Japan! High-Quality Journeys VOL.13, a magazine about domestic travel, on Monday, March 28 at 14:00. We have prepared a total of 15 itineraries: four itineraries for “travel with a seasonal feeling” to satisfy your curiosity for scenery that can only be seen in certain time periods, rare vehicles and food, and experiences, as well as 11 itineraries for “travel for enjoying hotels in a relaxed way” featuring stays in high-quality accommodations.

<Topics in common for the travel itineraries with a seasonal feeling>

(i) Customers can enjoy the must-see scenery of the four seasons which can only be glimpsed in certain time periods. They can also enjoy food, experiences, and more that are only available in those areas. Tourist taxis are available for transportation. One group of customers rides in each tourist taxi, so customers can have a relaxing time even on long journeys. Furthermore, the walking time for one day is stated in the travel schedule, so please apply in accordance with the purpose of your trip.

(ii) We are implementing COVID-19 infection prevention measures for traveling from place to place, tourist activities, and staying in accommodations during travel, so please participate with peace of mind.

This is an itinerary enabling customers to fully enjoy the vast wilderness of Hokkaido which is only available in this time period. Customers will travel around in dedicated taxis. At the World Heritage site Shiretoko Peninsula, you can enjoy the superb scenery from a cruise ship, explore nature around the Caretook Five Lakes with a nature guide, and savor the tremendously powerful and superb scenic panoramas of the Shiretoko World Heritage site. Furthermore, at the Notsuke Peninsula, you will be guided to a mysterious place called “the edge of the world” with rows of withered Sakhalin fir trees.

For your accommodation, we have selected an inn where you can have a relaxing time in a hot spring area of Hokkaido for all three nights.

[NEW] Plenty of highlights including seeing the must-visit Ise Jingu Shrine, and traveling around the World Heritage site Shirakawa-go, Hida-Takayama (little Kyoto), and Gujo Hachiman, 2 nights

This is an itinerary for fully enjoying Gujo Hachiman, Ise Jingu Shrine, Shirakawa-go, and Hida-Takayama in a leisurely manner in a hired car. You can explore Gujo Hachiman, a town where you can feel the local way of living which has not changed since the Edo period, visit the Ise Jingu Shrine, a place full of spiritual energy which has 2,000 years of history, and enjoy eating the various specialty cuisines at Oharai-machi and Okage-yokocho as well. At Shirakawa-go, which has been registered as a World Heritage site, you will be guided to the scenery of the Shirakawa-go Historic Villages, a beautiful landscape which should be described as the original scenery of Japan, where tradition and the lives of the people breathe. You can participate in the tour from either Central Japan International Airport or Nagoya Station.

Trip to encounter the mystery of Yakushima and feel the vast wilderness with abundant greenery, 2 or 3 nights
Departure dates: Wednesday, June 8; Sunday, June 12; Wednesday, June 15; Sunday, June 19; Sunday, June 26; Sunday, July 3 in 2022

This is an itinerary for staying for consecutive nights on Yakushima and enjoying the vast wilderness. You can choose from three plans, the plan for enjoying trekking, the plan for traveling around tourist spots in a taxi, and the hotel stay plan. Regarding the trekking, you can experience Shiratani Unsui Gorge trekking (7 hours) and Jomon Sugi trekking (13 hours* 3-night itinerary only) with an official certified guide. With the tourism plan, you travel around by taxi to places to which large buses cannot go, including the Seibu Rindo Forest Path, Yakusugi Land, Ohko-no-taki Waterfall, etc. Furthermore, at night on the first day, with a little luck, you will be guided to Kuriohama Beach where you can see the spawning of the sea turtles. You can participate in the tour from either Kagoshima Airport or Kagoshima-Chuo Station.

♦Trip including excursions around the World Heritage sites Shurijo Castle and Gusuku sites, a tour of a vintage sake cellar in a limestone cave, and firefly watching, 2 nights
Departure dates: Sunday, June 19; Sunday, June 26; Sunday, July 3 in 2022

You will be guided on a tour of three gusuku castles registered as an Okinawan World Cultural Heritage site and a vintage sake cellar in a limestone cave. This is an itinerary on which you can encounter a variety of Ryukyu culture, which includes traveling around to Shurijo Castle and the Tamaudun royal mausoleum, the Katsuren Castle Ruins, and the Zakimi Castle Ruins, touring a vintage sake cellar for awamori utilizing a limestone cave and an awamori gallery, and experiencing coral dyeing, etc. Regarding the firefly watching, in the peak season many fireflies are flying about, and you can probably experience a breathtakingly magical spectacle. *Note 3

The itineraries for “travel for enjoying hotels in a relaxed way” are plans that include stays in high-quality hotels and ryokans. We have prepared a total of 11 itineraries in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa. They are Local Participation Plans without Air Tickets, and depending on the itinerary a welcome taxi, or a tourist taxi or a rental car plan as an upgraded plan (for an additional charge) is offered (some itineraries). Enjoy a more elegant and luxurious time than usual.
